2014 PMA (Produce Marketing Association) Fresh Summit Conference and Expo

Did you ever wondered how your local markets find produce, vegetable-based products, and items like nuts, dried fruits, grains, etc. to put on their shelves? The Produce Marketing Association (PMA) is a large part of this process. PMA is a trade organization that represents companies from every segment of the global fresh produce and floral supply chain. PMA helps members grow by providing connections that expand business opportunities and increase sales and consumption. The expo not only showcases produce and products, but innovative shelving for markets and packaging machinery for farmers and distributors. This year’s event took over the entire Anaheim Convention Center floor with seminars and classes going on upstairs as well.

Here’s an inside look on some of the new products that you might see in your local market this coming year:

Melissa’s Produce, from Los Angeles, CA, USA, has a new line of CleanSnax made with chia and flaxseed. They come in 4 flavors – Almond, Cranberry, Coconut, and Pumpkin Seed. The bite-size pieces are perfect for snacking at home or pack it for a day hike.
