Review of Zonin Dress Code Collection Prosecco + cocktail recipes

Zonin1821 is the largest privately held wine company and owns the largest Prosecco vineyards in Italy. Zonin Prosecco is a made from the Prosecco grape native to the Veneto region in Italy. Like their name, they have been vintners since 1821 – seven generations – which means from the soil, vines, grapes, to winemaking is part of this family’s DNA.

Zonin ‘Dress Code’ Collection Prosecco launched nationwide in February 2016, a refined extension of the classic Zonin Prosecco. The collection offers three unique tasting profiles. They can be enjoyed on their own or as a mixer for cocktails (see recipes below).

Zonin Prosecco White Edition ($16.99) is made with 91% Glera and 9% Pinot Bianco. Tasting notes: crisp and aromatic; floral and tropical fruit notes on the palate. Pairs well with spicy entrees, light dishes, or shellfish. This prosecco is my favorite of the collection along with the recipe below!

Pink Shade by Zonin

2 oz Zonin Dress Code White Edition

2 oz gin

½ cup Talenti Raspberry Sorbetto

1 tbsp simple syrup

Stir ingredients together and pour into a ½ pint glass. Garnish with three small scoops of sorbet and serve immediately.

Zonin Prosecco Grey Edition ($16.99) is made with 87% Glera and 13% Pinot Grigio. Tasting notes: smooth; earthy and light apple on the front and light ginger finish. Pairs well with charcuterie, cheese boards, and light seafood dishes.

Purple Drank Pop by Zonin

4 oz Zonin Dress Code Grey Edition

1 oz Diplomatico Blanco Reserva Rum

3 oz Langers Grape Juice

1 tsp fresh lime juice

Stir ingredients together and pour into popsicle molds. Freeze for at least 8 hours. Pops may not freeze completely due to the high alcohol content. Pour 4 oz. of prosecco into a glass and unmold popsicle inside. Serve immediately.

Zonin Prosecco Black Edition ($16.99) is made with 90% Glera and 10% Pinot Noir. Tasting notes: silky and creamy; apple, rose, and cardamom experienced on the palate. Pairs well with seafood dishes like crab cakes, salmon puffs, and sushi.

Sucker Punch by Zonin

4 oz Zonin Dress Code Black Edition

2 oz Amaro Lucano

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 oz La Vigne Organics Blood Orange Syrup

Stir ingredients together. Pour into a pint-size glass filled with ice. Garnish with citrus fruit.
