Save the Date: Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival on April 8, 2017

2016 Sabroso Craft Beer & Taco Festival

KLOS presents Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival, powered by Gringo Bandito, for its 4th annual celebration of all things beer, tacos, and music on April 8, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. (VIP entry starts at 12 p.m.) The festival will feature live music, Lucha Libre-style wrestling by World Power Wrestling (WFW), games, contests, complimentary craft beer tastings (until 4 p.m.) from some of the best breweries in the county, and $3 gourmet tacos from Orange County’s top chefs and restaurants. The festival is produced by Brew Ha Ha Productions and Synergy Global Entertainment (SGE).

The music lineup will be headlined by Orange County-based, multi-platinum rock band, The Offspring, along with performances from Sum 41, Rival Sons, Lit, Unwritten Law, Metalachi, and roving performances from local mariachi bands.

While taco lovers can indulge on $3 gourmet tacos, these chef creations will be competing for the coveted “People’s Choice” awards via Text-To-Vote. “Best Of Show” will be awarded by a panel of highly acclaimed and pre-selected food judges. Here are some of the chefs and restaurants serving and defending their title from last year: Chef Jimmy Martinez of Pour Vida, Chef Cody Sorts of Salt and Ash, Chef Rashad Moumneh of Falasophy, Luis Flores of Meat Up BBQ, and Chef Hop Phan of Dos Chinos. But their title could be taken by these chefs and restaurants: Chef Greg Daniels of Haven Gastropub, Ninjas With Appetite (NWA) Truck, Devilious Truck, The Lime Truck, Stadium Brewing Co., The Kroft, Chronic Tacos, Downtown Taco Co., El Mercado Modern, Fiesta Gourmett, Piaggio, Sol-Agave, Tacos Manuel, Pink Taco, The Viking Truck, Up In Smoke, and many more.

Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Challenge competition will feature 10 professional eaters from around the world, competing for cash prizes and the highly-coveted title of Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Eating Champion. Well-known champion eater Takeru Kobayashi from Nagano, Japan, holds eight Guinness World Records for competitive eating and will be defending his record from 2015 of devouring 144 tacos in 10 minutes. European taco challenge champion, Jesse Pynnönen from Heinola, Finland, will compete along with Molly Schuyller, Naader Reda, Kevin Ross, Erik Lampkin, Dave Brunelli, among others. If you’re feeling hungry and competitive, there is also an amateur competition open to 8 lucky contestants.

Gringo Bandito, owned by Dexter Holland of The Offspring, will be sampling their line of hot sauces.

Prices range from $99-$199. Must be 21 or older to attend. Photo ID required.
  • General Admission Ticket includes complimentary beer tasting and access to view the music stage. Prices ranges from $60-$75. Must be 21 or older to attend. Photo ID required.


A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association (DSBIA), the non-profit cooperating association of Doheny State Beach, dedicated to the protection of the park’s beaches, facilities, marine refuge, and its historical, cultural, and social stories.
