Peppino’s serves up great Italian seafood dishes in Foothill Ranch, California

Peppino’s has been serving up Italian cuisine since they opened their first location in Lake Forest in 1984. Since then, they have opened locations in Mission Viejo, Foothill Ranch, and a pizzeria in Aliso Viejo. The location in Foothill Ranch anchors the food court and provides the only table service location among the food choices. It is great for business lunches or celebrating birthdays during the business day. They have patio seating which is wonderful on a warm spring day. The service is always friendly and they make you feel like you are a part of their family.

A bread basket of French bread and tomato cheese focaccia are brought to the table. The French bread has a good crisp crust on the outside and is slightly chewy on the inside. The focaccia is soft yet chewy like a good pizza crust with a light tomato flavor and melted mozzarella cheese.

Caesar Salad is fresh romaine tossed with Caesar dressing, mozzarella, Romano cheese, and topped with seasoned croutons. This was a very flavorful salad. The dressing was on spot with flavor and the mozzarella cheese was a pleasant creamy change to parmesan. Rating: 5/5

Fresh Jumbo Scallops sautéed in a white wine sauce with fresh garlic, seasoned, and served over linguini. The scallops were huge and cooked to perfection. The sauce was flavorful and clung to the linguine which was cooked to a perfect al dente. Rating: 5/5

Linguini Imperial is diced shrimp, baby clams, fresh garlic sautéed in white cream sauce, and served over linguini. The shrimp and clams were perfectly cooked. The clams had a sweet briny flavor and the shrimp were sweet with just the right amount of snap. Just like the prior dish, the sauce clung to the linguine. Rating: 5/5

Tortellini Imperial is diced shrimp, baby clams, garlic sautéed in white cream sauce over ricotta filled tortellini. The shrimp and clams were cooked perfectly. The seafood and sauce work really well with the tortellini. But be prepared to take some of this home as it is a large serving of pasta and very filling. Rating: 5/5

Pescatore is clams, mussels, halibut, jumbo shrimp, calamari, crab sautéed in fresh garlic with white wine sauce and served over linguini. The seafood bounty on this plate was incredible. I loved that they sautéed the mussels and clams in the shell so the flavors and juices from inside the shell were incorporated into the sauce. Each piece of seafood was perfectly cooked. Rating: 5/5

If you love seafood and pasta, Peppino’s is the place to go. They also have many classic Italian dishes like lasagna and veal parmigiana if you’re feeling more carnivorous!

Adults dining together with their kids will have their peace of mind, due to the family-friendly atmosphere at Peppino’s. Without a doubt, it is good customer service that played a huge factor on their success. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts and reviews!

    1. Hi Megan,

Yes, they always have great service and their food is consistent every time I dine there. I just wished they had a location in North Orange County.
