It’s all about the science at Creamistry Rowland Heights

Amy Hsiao has been friends with Jay Yim, owner of Creamistry, for a long time. Once Jay started to franchise, Amy wanted to open her own store outside of Orange County. Creamistry Rowland Heights’ grand opening was on February 20, 2015. Amy has been in the POS industry for over 20 years and actually helped Creamistry with their POS system. POS means “Point of Service” which is the revamped form of a “cash register” and “ordering system”. Yet, today’s technology makes it far more user friendly for the operator. For the customer at Creamistry, it means customization from choosing the ice cream base, flavors, mix-ins, and using different methods of payment. For the operator, the system encompasses reports for a customized period, whether it is a certain hour of business or end-of-day reports, inventory, and much more.

At the Rowland Heights location, you’ll find it’s all about the science. Mr. Creamistry hosts field trip days where local schools will bring in students to learn about liquid nitrogen and how it works and interacts with materials. They get a hands-on course on Creamistry ice cream making. There is also a large video wall where educational videos can be displayed while the students are learning.

Here are some flavors you might like to try:

Signature Premium Churro tastes exactly like a churro. It has the right amount of cinnamon and sugar for that churro flavor. The sugar crystals add a contrasting texture to the creamy ice cream. Rating: 5/5

Signature Premium Peanut Butter with Raspberry Sauce tastes just like a PB&J. It’s great for the kids, but adults will like it too. It is a trip down memory lane of mom packing your lunch for school. The peanut butter ice cream is packed with peanut butter flavor – almost as if you are eating it right out of the jar. The raspberry sauce adds a sweet and tart tang and will remind you of jelly or preserves. Rating: 5/5

Signature Premium Captain Crunch is like frozen breakfast heaven. The Captain Crunch stays crunchy and adds a sweet corn and oat flavor. If you are like me and grew up on the cereal, you have to try it. It is the #1 flavor sold at Creamistry. The ice cream base becomes your “milk” with the cereal. You just have to try it and be amazed! Rating: 4.5/5

Signature Premium Cookies & Cream is like having Oreos and milk. Oreos on their own are not super sweet so the flavor is more subtle in the ice cream. The chocolate cookie stays crunchy and adds a nice texture to the mix. Rating: 4/5

Creamistry Rowland Heights “blinded me with science”.
